WESTON SHORE: PHOTOGRAPHIC CONCEPTS AND THEMES

This series of photographs is from my concepts and themes unit this term. The project initially started life as a documentary piece, recording forgotten estates and the people who live there. Growing up in an estate myself, they are area's that I feel personally, have become shrouded and ignored. However as I kept visiting weston I became increasingly interested in the environment, just minuets away from local idyllic area's such as Netley abbey, Weston could be observed as quite the juxtaposition. However as the golden hour approached on one particular day of photographing the shore, a subtle and ethereal aura of the area dawned, the ever changing, industrialised shore seemed to reflect the social changes in the estate. These are some of my final photographs that made it into the exhibition.
